Die Idylle abseits von Ho Chi Minh City
Mein Tagesausflug in das Mekong Delta
Bald in der Früh ging es mit dem Bus von Ho Chi Minh City Richtung Mekong Delta. Im Ort Ben Tre wechselten wir vom Bus in ein Tuk Tuk, das machte die Rundreise authentischer. Nach einer etwa 15 minütigen Fahrt ins Grüne, kamen wir an unserem ersten Zwischenstop an. Wir besuchten einen Kokosnussbauern, der uns zeigte, wie man auf Kokosnusspalmen klettert und die Kokosnüsse öffnet.
Vor seinem Haus erwartete uns seine nette Frau, die uns herzlich wilkommen hieß. Das gesamte Haus ähnelte sehr einem Keramikmuseum, denn alles was seinen Vorfahren schon gehörte, bewahrte er auf. So kamen über mehrere Generationen tausende Stücke an jeglichem Schnick Schnack zusammen.
Am kleinen, überfüllten Haustempel angekommen, erzählte uns unser Reiseleiter einiges über den Glauben und der Ahnenverehrung hier in Vietnam.
Danach ging es mit dem Tuk Tuk weiter zu einer Familie, die Bambusmatten und Hüte auf traditionelle Weise händisch webten. Wir wurden hier sehr nett mit frischen Früchten und etwas zum Trinken empfangen und schauten ihnen bei ihrer Handwerkskunst zu.
Von hier aus ging es per Fahrrad weiter zu einem kleinen Nebenarm des Mekong Flusses. Nun hieß es von Land aufs Wasser zu wechseln. Mit traditionellen Booten, die von Frauen mit einem großen Stock navigiert wurden, fuhren wir in die wunderschönen Mangrovenlandschaften weiter auf einen größeren Flusses namens Ben Tre River.
Für eine Pause und Stärkung legten wir am Ufer des Ben Tre Rivers am „Sáu Khánh Home & Restaurant“ an. Hier wurden uns tolle und sehr leckere traditionelle vietnamesische Gerichte mit fangfrischem Fisch serviert.
Mit vollem Magen ging es mit einem etwas größeren Boot nun zu der Bonbon-Fabrik „Lò Kẹo Lan Thanh“ in der Kokoskaramell noch per Hand gefertigt wird. Hier zeigten uns einige Frauen ihr erlerntes Handwerk. Nebenbei gab es noch selbstgemachten Schnaps aus einer riesigen, bauchigen Flasche mit eingelegten Schlangen (darunter auch die ein oder andere Kobra) – für mich „nein danke“!
