Kann, muss man aber nicht!
Ein touristischer Ort und idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die umliegende Region. Ao Nang ist der größte Badeort der Provinz Krabi und ist daher auch sehr touristisch. Für ein paar Nächte ganz OK, aber für einen längeren Badeaufenthalt, gibt es in Thailand schönere Ecken!
Anreise & Verkehrsmittel
Von fast allen Flughäfen Thailands kommt man per Flugzeug nach Krabi. Möglich ist auch eine Anreise von Bangkok via Fernbus und Zug. Vom Flughafen kommt man relativ schnell und problemos mit Bus, Taxi oder Roller zum Ziel. Die Region rund um Krabi ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um die Andamanen See und die Phang Nga Bucht zu erkunden. Von hier gibt es auch Fährverbindungen nach Koh Lanta, Koh Muk und Koh Lipe.
Sightseeing & Ausflüge
- Ao Nang Beach: Schöner Strand mit atemberaubender Bergkulisse. Leider in der Hochsaison total überlaufen und voll mit Longtailbooten. Hinter dem Strand verläuft eine stark befahrene Straße und die Promenade, an der sich einige Restaurants, Bars und Shops reihen.
- Railay Beach & Phra Nang Cave Beach: Ein schöner Tagesausflug per Longtailboot von Ao Nag Beach ist problemlos möglich. Die Bucht ist nicht so stark überlaufen und gegen späten Nachmittag wird es um einiges ruhiger.
Unterbringung
Es gibt eine große Auswahl an günstigen und einfachen Unterkünften bis hin zu Luxushotels. Nur wenige Hotels liegen hier direkt am Strand. Zentral und nur durch die Strandpromenade vom Strand getrennt, ist das Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort und das Aonang Villa Resort. In einer eigenen Bucht (gleich neben dem Ao Nang Beach) gelegen und sehr ruhig liegt das Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi.
Restaurant & Shopping
Die Hauptstraße Ao Nangs bietet eine große Auswahl an Shoppingmöglichkeiten und vielen Restaurants. Wenn man gern gutes und günstiges Thaifood möchte, empfehle ich die Garküchen in der Seitenstraße gegenüber des Hotels Phranang Place Krabi.
